Year
three has two single classes with a total of 41 students. Each teacher
has special talents and interests that enrich their student's experiences
including music, art, cooking and craft.
Our Program offers interactive experiences in a friendly and stimulating learning
environment that encourages children to be fully engaged in their learning. The
teachers plan cooperatively in all curriculum areas. The needs and abilities
of the children are considered carefully when developing units of work. Technology
and use of the internet is incorporated in most areas of the curriculum.
Literacy: Our literacy program aims to develop all aspects of reading
and viewing, writing, speaking and listening. The daily two hour literacy block
provides an opportunity for children to enhance their skills through guided reading,
reciprocal teaching and independent literacy activities. Educational computer
programs are utilised extensively.
Mathematics: Our classes use the Go Maths program which follows the guidelines
presented by the new Maths Curriculum. Our program relies heavily on the use
of hands-on activities and games as well as offering extension activities for
students.
Integrated Studies: Some topics that will be covered are:
• Earth and Sky
• Energy
• Protecting our environments

The year three children are taught to respect each other and are encouraged to
